A French. police official told YWN that reports came earlier into dispatch that an African man was seen running with a Kalashnikov rifle outside a Kosher grocery market and fired various shots as he entered.

The official, who was not authorised to speak about the situation, said the man opened fire in the market Friday and declared “you know who I am.”
Paris police released a photo of Amedy Coulibaly as a suspect in the killing of a policewoman on Thursday. The official named him as the man holed up in the market.
AP’s source said some hostages have been gravely wounded. Earlier AFP said two people had been killed. Reuters said one person was seriously injured and six hostages have been taken.
9:01AM ET: Shops near the kosher supermarket siege have been evacuated, according to a witness who remains holed up in a restaurant nearby.
8:33AM ET: France’s anti-terrorism prosecutor has confirmed that shooting and hostage-taking attack is underway at a kosher market on the eastern edge of Paris, AP reports. A police official said there are multiple hostages and wounded at the scene.
RECAP: The police operation to detain the two suspects in the Charlie Hebdo attack is underway Friday, with the three-day manhunt focused on a town 50 kilometres from Paris. The suspects are now surrounded and have reportedly taken at least one hostage.
The suspects – brothers Cherif Kouachi, 32, and Said Kouachi, 34 – are thought to have taken one hostage at a small printing shop in the town of Dammartin-en-Goële in the Seine-et-Marne region, around 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from Paris’ main airport Charles De Gaulle.
Police have revealed a “connection” between the fatal shooting of a policewoman in Montrouge, southern Paris, on Thursday and the massacre at Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday. The assailant in the Montrouge shooting of the policewoman has also taken at least five hostages in a kosher shop in the capital.
Shots were fired earlier on Friday northeast of Paris as police chased a car believed to contain the suspects, but there were no casualties.
The two brothers are suspected of killing 12 people at the Paris-based satirical weekly – eight journalists, two police officers, a maintenance worker, and a visitor. Eleven people were also wounded – four of them seriously.
Nine people have so far been detained in the search for the brothers.
